CALL FOR PRESENTATIONS - Nordic regenerative tourism conference 2025

The Nordic Regenerative Tourism 2025: "Realism or wishful thinking?" will be held in Siglufjörður, North Iceland March 11th-14th 2025.

The Nordic Regenerative Tourism project is in its third year. Having focused on topics relevant to the realities of small and micro-sized operators within hospitality, gastronomy, and activities, we are calling for presentations based both on experience and ambition, in line with our contemplation of how we can move forward on the pathway towards tourism that contributes to its environment in harmony with nature and community.

At the conference, the following themes will be explored:

  • Regenerative tourism and hospitality

  • Regenerative tourism and gastronomy

  • Regenerative tourism, activities, and experiences

  • Regeneration and the future - an impossible task?

  • Case studies and theories for the applicability of regenerative approaches in action plans and policies at all levels

Regenerative tourism has become a prominent concept in tourism dialogue. But what is it, and are the ambitions it highlights rooted in realism or wishful thinking for the future? We are now calling for contributions from tourism stakeholders in all sectors to discuss where we are heading, where we should be heading, and to provide examples of how we can get there.
