About
The Nordic Regenerative Tourism Conference will be held in Siglufjörður, North Iceland, in March 2025. This event marks the conclusion of the third and final development year for Nordic Regenerative Tourism (NorReg), which is funded by the Nordic Council of Ministers. Throughout the NorReg initiative, the focus has been on defining relevant and actionable initiatives for small and micro-sized enterprises within the tourism sector, aimed at advancing the industry towards place-based solutions for regenerative and sustainable operations.
The conference brings together all stakeholders from the tourism industry to discuss regenerative tourism, its foundations, implementation, and future across the Nordic region. The program will focus on the practical application of regenerative practices within various tourism sectors, including hospitality, gastronomy, and recreational activities. The conference title, “Regenerative Tourism – Realism or Wishful Thinking?” reflects one of the main themes, focusing on the integration of regenerative tourism into policies and strategic plans at all levels.
We are excited to welcome you to the northernmost town in Iceland. This historic fishing village draws visitors from around the world for its fresh sea air, cultural heritage, and access to a wide range of adventure activities. In recent years, it has also become a platform for outdoor sports and winter activities of all kinds.
At the conference the following themes will be explored:
